Roller coasters that jostle their riders can help dislodge very small kidney stones of 5 millimeters or less in diameter that are stuck in the outer ducts of the kidney. Once dislodged, the jostling can drive small stones toward the ureter, where they need to be to pass. Experts say it's ideal for stones to pass when they are tiny so they don't become bigger, more painful problems later on. Riding a roller coaster is unlikely to be effective for patients suffering with larger stones. If you're concerned that you may have a kidney stone, talk with your urologist about options for treatment.

Studies have shown that cotton socks are the most likely to cause blisters. Socks made of other materials, such as acrylic or other synthetic fibers, are much better at wicking moisture and keeping feet dry. Cotton fibers retain up to three times the moisture of acrylic and other synthetic fibers; acrylic fiber socks are more likely to leave fewer and smaller blisters than those made of natural fibers.
