ACCENTHEALTH CELEBRATES 10 YEARS AS PIONEER OF PATIENT EDUCATION TV PROGRAMMING IN DOCTORS’ OFFICES
Tampa, FL
November 30, 2005
AccentHealth, America’s #1 Integrated Health Media Company, achieves another milestone as it reaches its ten-year anniversary. Founded in 1995, and growing from a base of 500 offices to over 10,000 today, AccentHealth has been providing award-winning healthy lifestyle television programming in doctors’ offices for a decade. The programming, which is produced by CNN and hosted by CNN medical news correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Headline News anchor Robin Meade, is tailored into four distinct television networks to meet the needs of differing physician practices. The General Health Network, the Young Family Network, the Silver Network and the En Español Network together reach over 100 million health-conscious consumers each year. 70% of this audience is women 18+.
Programming segments such as “Living Well”, “Healthline”, “Baby & You”, “Ask Your Pharmacist”, and “On the Menu”, offer up-to-date health news, disease information, recipes and tips consumers can use everyday to help them lead healthier lives. All content and sponsor messages are screened by our esteemed medical advisory board.
“We are the largest point-of-care media, offering consumer-friendly health information to viewers, and impressive reach, demographic targeting, and effective measurement techniques for our sponsors,” said Richard Ruth, CEO. “I am proud to celebrate 10 years of success, and look forward to a future of continued programming excellence, and improved AccentHealth technology.”
Moving into 2006, AccentHealth has several strategies for company growth. The Health Panel program, meeting advertiser demand for an educational print vehicle at the point-of-care, will continue to expand in AccentHealth waiting areas. This program is currently available for brands of pediatric, diabetic and heart-healthy products. Technology will also be a large focus in the coming year with a planned roll-out of 32” flat panel televisions in each of the AccentHealth waiting areas. New media vehicles and state-of-the-art technology will further enhance the learning experience for AccentHealth viewers.
“Trying to help patients, making people feel better, both mentally and physically, has been the focus of my whole life,” said Dr. Adler, Chairman of the AccentHealth Medical Advisory Board. “In my opinion, AccentHealth is one of the greatest ways to educate the largest number of people about health issues,” he continued. Dr. Philip Adler has led the Medical Advisory Board of AccentHealth since inception.
